Service Description

Professional Development opportunities can be a 3 hour or 6-hour session. Here is what we offer: Breaking The Down Barriers: Engaging Students & Parents in Poverty This interactive session focuses on effectively working with students and families experiencing poverty. Participants will examine the impact of poverty on student learning and well-being, explore strategies for engaging students and families within the school community, and identify meaningful ways to support families navigating economic hardship. Bullying: Putting the Pieces Together This engaging, interactive session will examine federal and state definitions of bullying, explore the underlying factors that contribute to bullying behavior and victimization, and outline effective steps for investigating incidents and educating campus staff and students on identifying and addressing bullying behaviors. Keys to Successful Classroom Management This session will focus on common classroom and campus behaviors, explore research-based strategies to strengthen classroom management, and include a hands-on “make-and-take” workshop featuring practical tools and resources to support effective classroom management. Through the Looking Glass: Recognizing Students and Families in Crisis Situations This session will focus on identifying signs that a student or family may be experiencing a crisis, understanding the various types of crises, and recognizing your legal responsibilities for reporting them. Accommodations & Modifications…Oh, my! This session will examine the distinction between accommodation and modifications, provide guidance on identifying learning disabilities, and explore effective strategies for supporting struggling students in the classroom. Is it, could it be dyslexia? This session provides an overview of dyslexia, including its defining characteristics and common indicators, and explores effective instructional strategies to support students with dyslexia in the classroom.
